About Nurburgring Germany Track

The Nürburgring is a famous racing site with over 95 years of exciting history. Since its inception in 1927, it has hosted memorable triumphs, great races, and dramatic events that impacted racing. The racing course, built in the Eifel mountains, is 28.265 kilometers long and offers a demanding and breathtaking setting. Construction began in 1925, with 2,500 workers creating a track that would quickly become famous. The Nürburgring’s inaugural race took held in June 1927, kicking off its illustrious saga.

Rudolf Caracciola won the initial automobile race, becoming a part of Nürburgring’s rich history. Mercedes-Benz unveiled its Silver Arrows at the Nürburgring in 1954, where Juan Manuel Fangio won. Over the years, the track has witnessed tremendous moments, cementing its global renown. As the 1980s progressed, Nürburgring became more than just a motorsports venue; it also hosted music festivals. The first « Rock am Ring » in 1985 drew 75,000 music fans, ushering in a new era.

In 1995, Formula One resumed, and Michael Schumacher became the first German to win. Schumacher’s triumphs in the 1990s reinforced his reputation as a Nürburgring legend, notably his 2006 victory. In recognition of his achievements, a part of the track was dubbed Michael-Schumacher-S. In 2017, Rock am Ring returned to its roots, attracting large crowds and prominent bands. The renowned festival returned to the Nürburgring, where luminaries performed for fans. In 2018, Timo Bernhard broke records by completing a lap in 5:19.55 minutes.
