Company was founded in Hamburg in 1948 by Günther Brümmer and Hugo von Rautenkranz. The company began with a single lorry and grew into a successful independent group of companies. Today company operates facilities in Hamburg, Hanover, and Bremen as part of the CargoLine network.

The tracking number is issued at booking and used to monitor every active freight shipment. Customers use their kg tracking reference to access current cargo location and delivery status. Their spedition tracking updates reflect real-time movement of consignments across all active transport routes.

In 1969 company founded ELKAWE Container Service to manage the vehicle fleet for ongoing operations. This subsidiary has supported the company’s logistics capabilities across decades of continued growth. In 1988, Günther Brümmer expanded the group by acquiring international haulier Carl Köster and Louis Hapke.

BHS Spedition and Logistik GmbH was established in Bremen in 2004 as a joint venture partnership. Partners in this venture included A. Hartrodt Bremen and Schmidt-Gevelsberg Bremen. All three BurSped locations in Hamburg, Hanover, and Bremen hold membership within CargoLine GmbH and Co. KG.

Company is certified according to ISO 9001:2015 including an integrated HACCP concept for food logistics. Quality is treated as a cross-sectional function monitored by a dedicated internal quality officer.
